The Portal Livre de Teatro project aimed to significantly enhance the online presence of the Escola Livre de Teatro de Santo André (ELT), going beyond simply creating a website. The challenge was to encapsulate ELT’s profound social impact, commitment to inclusion, and pioneering role in education and theater experimentation. Our objective was to translate the essence of ELT, a beacon of free public access to the theatrical arts since 1990, into a vibrant digital platform that resonates with values of emancipation, citizenship, and cultural diversity.
Portal Livre de Teatro
elevating the digital voice of Escola Livre de Teatro de Santo André.
a digital manifesto for inclusion and artistic expression!
Our design team crafted a comprehensive digital identity for the Portal Livre de Teatro that reflects ELT’s artistic-pedagogical mission. Central to this was the creation of a visual identity inspired by revolutionary artistic movements, with a powerful emblem based on the Conchita de Morais theater, the physical home of ELT. This symbol anchors the website’s identity, linking the virtual experience directly to the school’s cultural heritage. The rich visual language of the site features extensive photography of plays, actors, and school events, showcasing the creativity and vitality of the community while emphasizing the transformative power of art.
The website was designed with inclusivity at its core, reflecting ELT’s diverse curriculum and commitment to marginalized voices, particularly those of transgender individuals. Dynamic content capabilities ensure that the site remains flexible and can evolve with ongoing pedagogical developments and community contributions. Additionally, the platform promotes engagement and dialogue, facilitating spaces for reflection and artistic exchange among artists, students, and the broader community. This approach effectively mirrors the ELT’s physical space as a hub for artistic and social discourse.
